Saxo Bank–SunGard 2011 team kit unveiled!
New colors and innovative fabrics headline the improved 2011 Saxo Bank – SunGard team kit.
“We’re really happy with the new design of the kit,” said Bjarne Riis. “We felt a need to renew our design, so the basic color of our jersey is now light blue, and as you can see, the eagle is back after a couple years hiatus.”
The basic color is light blue, and the eagle is back in the 2011 design, making it easy to pick out the riders in the bunch. There’s not only cosmetic changes to the new kit, Sportful has gone more futuristic in its fabrics. Based on feedback and testing from the riders last year, the race jersey is now lighter and more aerodynamic with new fabrics and a superior wicking and moisture management.
The Saxo Bank – SunGard team jersey and bibshort not only saves the rider about 12 watts compared to a standard jersey and short, thanks to aero-slippery fabrics, and dimpled structure sections on the front and back of the shoulders to aid air flow, but also new enhanced research in body-temperature management will give the riders an advantage edge from the cold spring days in Belgium to the hot mountain stages in July.
In the entire kit, there are about 20 incremental improvements as well as 7 brand new models to make sure that 2010’s UCI best team continues to receive the World Tour’s best clothing.
The Saxo Bank – SunGard team will be outfitted with the latest and best in Sportful’s extensive line of clothing, ranging from winter’s warmest, to summer’s coolest, all with a focus on aerodynamics and comfort.
